Eugene Pack’s popular series Celebrity Autobiography will play engagements in Pittsburgh, New Orleans and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Celebrity Autobiography turns the actual words of the “famous and infamous” into comic gold as they are read aloud by other notable performers. The series has enjoyed successful runs in Los Angeles and currently plays New York’s Triad Theater.

Annie Golden, John Marshall Jones, Lee Meriwether, Lenora Nemetz, Billy Porter, Anthony Rapp, Bruce Vilanch and Michaela Watkins will headline the Pittsburgh run June 3-12 at the City Theatre. The New Orleans bow, which will be presented July 11 at Le Petite Theatre, will feature Bryan Batt, Mario Cantone, Jennifer Coolidge, John Goodman and Ryan Reynolds.

Upcoming New York engagements on June 7 will include Matthew Broderick, Mario Cantone, Dick Cavett, Jackie Hoffman, Kristen Johnston, Dayle Reyfel, Scott Adsit, Alan Zweibel and Pack; while a special gay pride edition on June 26 at the Gramercy Theatre will include the previously announced Rachel Dratch, Cheyenne Jackson, John Cameron Mitchell, B.D. Wong, Bruce Vilanch, Johnston, Reyfel and Pack.

Laraine Newman, Brooke Shields, Fred Willard, Rita Wilson and Urie will join the June 21 Los Angeles presentation at Broad Stage.

The New York Times has also reported that Celebrity Autobiography’s Edinburgh presentation, featuring George Wendt and Michael Urie, will take place Aug. 5-30, and could possibly transfer to London.

Previous presentations of the hit series have featured readings of autobiographies and memoirs by Sarah Palin, Carrie Prejean, Ozzy Osbourne, Tiger Woods, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Ivana Trump, Vanna White, Mr. T, Star Jones, Kenny Loggins, Tommy Lee, Sylvester Stallone, ‘N Sync, Zsa Zsa Gabor, David Cassidy, Neil Sedaka, Britney Spears, Madonna, Burt Reynolds, Loni Anderson, Elizabeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

Celebrity Autobiography, according to press notes, “features a line-up of rotating performers who interpret the actual words and stories written by the famous and the infamous, in both solo and ensemble ‘chamber’ pieces.”
