Outfest Honors gala, October 28 in L.A.

Set to receive Outfest Honors on Friday, October 28, at the first fund-raiser for the Outfest Legacy Project for LGBT Film Preservation are Robert Rosen, dean of the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Theater, Film, and Television; Joan Garry, former executive director of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation; and Absolut Vodka. The Legacy Project, a collaboration between Outfest and the UCLA Film and Television Archive and , which organizes the annual Los Angeles gay and lesbian film festival, was formed this year to preserve gay and lesbian films.
Part of the festivities at the Outfest Honors gala will be a “queer reading” of an episode of Charlie’s Angels, written by John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and directed by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld (Kissing Jessica Stein), starring Sandra Oh, Jennifer Coolidge, and Bruce Vilanch.
The event takes place at the Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood, Calif.
