The 127 Hours star, 32, is planning to re-create the most famous moment in the film when his character – mountaineer Aron Ralston – cuts off his trapped arm.
Franco has apparently enlisted co-host Anne Hathaway for the grisly re-enactment.
Academy Awards show writer Bruce Vilanch said the scene was the ‘obvious bit’ in their forthcoming presenting duties.
‘We have to sit down with them to figure out what they will and will not do,’ warned Vilanch.
