Comic/writer Bruce Vilanch appearance
to benefit CAMP Rehoboth Aug. 15
Bruce Vilanch has heard about Rehoboth Beach, and he’s ready to tell everyone what he thinks.
Comic/writer/raconteur Vilanch will be at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center Saturday, Aug. 15, and a packed house will be one more notch on Rehoboth’s reputation as a premier stop for nationally known performers.
Recently nominated for more Emmy Awards, Vilanch is set to visit Rehoboth, mix and mingle at local favorite watering holes and provide a one-night-only performance.
Tickets sales are hot, and sponsors are lining up to help make this a grand event for Rehoboth Beach – everybody wants in on this landmark evening, presented by CAMP Rehoboth.
Local and regional sponsors include Sea Bova Realtors, Outlet Liquors, Baltimore Gay Life newspaper, The Washington Blade newspaper, The Blue Moon, Aqua Grill, Dos Locos, Purple Parrot Grill and Cloud 9.
Vilanch comes to Rehoboth Beach from Hollywood, where he was once the quickest wit on “Hollywood Squares.†On Broadway, he’s played Edna Turnblad in the musical “Hairspray†and is known as one of the most outrageous comedy writers in the business. He’s written for Bette Midler, Whoopi Goldberg, Lily Tomlin, Billy Crystal and other superstars.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show Aug. 15 are $100 for table seating that includes a post-event meet & greet, and general admission tickets go for $75, $50 and $25. Sponsorships are also still available. Call for tickets; they are going fast, and a sell-out will mean that entertainers and agents all over the country will be hollering “Book me in Rehoboth Beach!â€
