Bruce Vilanch, whom I love, has been head joke writer for the Oscars, weighs more than an Escalade, dresses like a vagrant and has long blond hair like Cate Blanchett. He says of the coming Academy Awards: “Good movies, but it’ll be tough on laughs, skimpy on parties and stingy on booze.”
