Harvey Fierstein may have created Edna Turnblad on Broadway in ”Hairspray,” but Bruce Vilanch has made Edna his own in the Los Angeles production. The other night, doing the scene where Edna’s husband gropes her from behind, Vilanch gasped, ”Gov. Schwarzenegger, is that you?” The full-figured comic also joked, ”Now that Whoopi Goldberg got fired from Slim-Fast, maybe I can get that job. It’s certainly not going to Linda Ronstadt.”
