For over two decades comedian Bruce Vilanch has written some of the best received Academy Awards shows. Although the writing process starts months in advance he really shines when he’s in the hot seat, coming up with funny things for the hosts to say as the show unfolds live. This will be his twenty second year as head writer for the Oscars and Bruce has had to face some tough challenges this year.
