Celeb Autobios Get Good and Gay
In the wildly popular “Celebrity Autobiography†series, real celebrities read from the autobiographies of other real celebrities. It’s a trippy moment of pop culture eating itself up and spitting out a uniquely New York experience that has as much to say about the audience as it does about the authors. Why, it’s even won a Drama Desk Award!
This June, the series delivers a special Gay Pride Edition featuring Cheyenne Jackson, John Cameron Mitchell, BD Wong, Kristen Johnston, Bruce Vilanch and Rachel Dratch. Whose autobiographies are they reading from? Who cares? That crew could share a phone book for the night and you would still be getting your money’s worth.
Saturday, June 26, 7:30pm at The Gramercy Theater (127 East 23rd Street at Lexington Ave.). For tickets ($25-$125), call 212-352-3101.
