WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Several popular entertainers and celebrities will headline the City of West Hollywood’s Eighth Annual West Hollywood Book Fair on Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at West Hollywood Park, 647 North San Vicente Boulevard in West Hollywood. The West Hollywood Book Fair will feature stages with author panels, special guests, live performances, exhibitors and writing workshops. The West Hollywood Book Fair is one of Southern California’s most eclectic literary events attracting readers and writers of all ages and interests. Admission is free.

Featured authors at this year’s West Hollywood Book Fair will include Carol Channing, recipient of three Tony Awards (including one for Lifetime Achievement), as well as a Golden Globe and an Oscar nominee; Bob Barker, host of The Price is Right; Bruce Vilanch, a popular actor, comedian and writer; Amber Tamblyn, popular actress that appeared in several television shows and movies including Joan of Arcadia, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 1 and 2, and currently stars in the Unusuals; Kim Wayans, an actress, comedian, producer, writer and director and is best known for her starring role in the variety show In Living Color; Nicholas Meyer, a producer and novelist as well as the director of Star Trek films II, IV and VI; Mike Mignola a comic book artist and writer, famous for creating the comic book series Hellboy; Susan Olsen, who played Cindy Brady on The Brady Bunch; Kathy Kinney, known for her character Mimi Bobeck on The Drew Carey Show; Amber Benson, who played character Tara Maclay in Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Quinn Cummings, Oscar nominated actress from The Goodbye Girl; Harley Jane Kozak, actress who appeared in several movies including Parenthood, When Harry Met Sally and Arachnophobia; Carol Leifer, popular comedienne and writer; Ken Page, cabaret singer and Broadway legend; Stuart Ross, creator of Forever Plaid; author and former Time magazine film critic Richard Schickel and his daughter Erika Schickel; Ken Seeley and Candy Finnigan, interventionists on A&E’s “Intervention”; Doug Spearmen, who played the character Chance in Noah’s Arc; Frank Spotnitz, creator and producer of The X-Files; Karrine Steffans, music video model and best-selling author; Jason Stuart, popular gay comedian and actor; Gordon Thomson, a popular actor who is best known for his character Adam Carrington in Dynasty as well as other soap operas including Sunset Beach, Passions and Days of Our Lives; Liz Torres, who played the character Miss Patty in “The Gilmore Girls”; and Elmarie Wendel, who played the character Mrs. Mamie Dubcek on the series 3rd Rock From the Sun.

More than 180 exhibitors will participate in the West Hollywood Book Fair, including independent book sellers; literary non-profit organizations from throughout Southern California; small presses and arts and theatre groups. The West Hollywood Book Fair is co-sponsored by L.A. Weekly.
