“Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words,†the comedy show that won the 2009 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience, returns to Los Angeles for a one-night-only show on June 15 to benefit Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH).
The show features well-known performers reading from the autobiographies written by other celebrities, often to hilarious effect.
Among the performers scheduled to appear: Craig Bierko, Carrie Fisher, Eugene Pack, Matthew Perry, Dayle Reyfel, Ryan Reynolds, Fred Willard, Bruce Vilanch, and more.
“Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words†is set for 8 p.m., Monday, June 15, at Largo at the Coronet, 366 North La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles. General admission tickets cost $60 and limited VIP tickets, which include preferred seating and cast member reception, are $120.
Bierko, who has appeared on such hit TV shows as “Boston Legal†and “Nip/Tuck,†gave this testimonial on why he supports the benefit show:
“It’s hard to say why we feel the need to do certain things at certain times in our lives, but when those moments come along, the question itself seems to fall away and you know only one thing for certain – it is time to act. This is the way I felt after meeting my new friends at LLUCH. In the space of a few short hours, I witnessed prematurely born babies being coaxed toward life by a dedicated staff of doctors, nurses, and, yes, ‘cuddlers,’ local members of the community who hold the infants when the actual parents are unable to be there. The element of love, of human touch, is as much a part of this incredible facility as the cutting edge expertise of the amazing staff that works there.â€
“Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words†is the brainchild of Eugene Pack. It was initiated in Los Angeles and now runs weekly in New York City with a star-studded cast.
Each week, the cast takes turns to entertain guests as they read from other celebrities autobiographies. al up in front of an audience would be extremely entertaining.†To purchase tickets, call 909-558-3560 or jadeleon@llu.edu
