Bruce Vilanch, Patti Labelle And Others Help Smash Attendance Records At Pridefest Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI — Another night, another record-breaking attendance, and a new attitude. PrideFest continued into its second day with stellar performances by Lena Katina of electronica group t.A.T.u, pop opera singer Rose Jang, Oprah-favorite Charice, comedian Bruce Vilanch and the legendary Miss Patti LaBelle.

Before the diva and divas-in-training took the stage, PrideFest’s day was filled with educational, family, youth, and health activities. The LGBT History Project chronicles the community’s heritage in an intimate tent just near the entrance of the festival. Families enjoyed magicians and animal showcases. Youth participated in fashion shows and an inter-generational dialogue. PrideFest hosted HIV testing in the Health and Wellness Area. Mayor Tom Barrett even paid a visit applauding PrideFest for another “lovely festival.” Read More

Thousands of gays are gonna make like Laverne & Shirley and schlemiel and schlimazel their way on over to the nation’s largest Pride festival, Milwaukee PrideFest. The three-day celebration takes place on the Summerfest Grounds of the Henry Maier Festival Park, which sits along beautiful Lake Michigan.

PrideFest also offers a celebrity-packed weekend that’s got more stars than an episode of The Love Boat. Kathy Griffin, Patti LaBelle, and Joan Rivers each headline their own day, while Bruce Vilanch, Robert Verdi, and Melissa Ferrick round out the cast of supporting players. Read More
