Reminder: Bruce Vilanch, Constantine Maroulis, Fran Drescher Entertain At “One Night With The Stars” Benefit

Tony Award winners Betty Buckley and Lillias White and original Rent star Anthony Rapp are among Broadway performers lined up to spend One Night With the Stars, a benefit for Wigs & Wishes, the charity that provides wigs and grants wishes to women and children who have lost their hair and are otherwise suffering from cancer.

Broadway, TV, film, and music stars recently added to the 7:30 PM December 4 concert at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City include Fran Drescher, Constantine Maroulis, Darci Lynne, Tom Bergeron, Carrie Ann Inaba, Jesse Medeles, Cheryl Burke, and the duo Tabitha & Napoleon D’umo (a.k.a. Actor and comedian Bruce Vilanch and Tony Award-nominated composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have been added to the lineup of the new Feinstein’s at the Nikko cabaret series at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco.

Vilanch, who has been seen on Broadway in Hairspray, will perform July 18 at 8 PM, and Pasek and Paul, Tony-nominated for Broadway’s A Christmas Story, will perform July 19 at 8 PM and July 20 at 7 PM. Read More

The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall event, titled “A Bipolar Evening With Friends: Florence Henderson and Bruce Vilanch,” benefited, in part, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, as Henderson literally passed the hat near the opening of her portion of the show.

Promising to “tell the truth” in this musical revue of her life story, Henderson — best known as the wife and mom on the hit ’70s TV seriesThe Brady Bunch” — dished about her apparently squeaky clean personal past. She says she was a virgin when she married Ira Bernstein, the father of their four children. She never had an affair with Richard Rodgers, her womanizing mentor who discovered her during an audition for the national tour of “Oklahoma!” She “probably could have,” but didn’t have an affair with Frank Sinatra. And, at 76 — she’s in terrific shape: “I do Pilates three times a week, but what happened to the men my age?” — the twice-married widow of eight years is open to dating again. Read More
